Mushroom compost

Mushroom compost

Properties

Mushroom compost is a residual product of mushroom cultivation. After harvesting the mushrooms, the used mushroom substrate is collected and steamed. This kills any remaining mushroom spores. From that point on, it becomes mushroom compost and can be used for agriculture and horticulture.

Some of the analytical values for this compost are: 6,3 N , 4 P2O5, +/- 7 pH.

The compost is used as a soil improver in vegetable gardens, lawns, fields, etc.
The recommended height per layer is 3 to 4 cm. After application, mix the soil so that it can optimally absorb all the nutrients.

Mushroom compost not only adapts to the soil structure but also makes it more workable. It also improves the absorption of important nutrients by plants and the soil's ability to retain water.
